A detective story turned on its ear- part film noir whodunit, part revivalist People’s Temple nightclub. Private detective Molly Maguire loses her partner in a suspected suicide. She’s drunk, broke, and on the verge of losing her business when a mysterious man offers her a chance to work again. But when the case runs afoul of a new jazz church, everything Molly knows, including the nature of faith itself, is up for grabs.
